Del City, Oklahoma I-40 Car Accident Causes Low Power Lines

On Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 there was a major car accident in Del City, Oklahoma. This accident occurred when a car drove off Interstate 40 and hit a power pole. This caused other power lines to drop closer to the highway. Shortly after the accident most big rig trucks or 18 wheelers were very close to the power lines when driving through this area. It is not uncommon for car and truck accidents to happen on Interstate 40. That said, it is not common to see a vehicle drive off of an interstate on an overpass. This is a very dangerous situation as the driver and passengers are in a compromised position with little opportunity to adjust for the impact of the ground or the power pole.
